First of all, they didn’t let their youth hold them back. From Elon Musk and Nick D’Aloisio successfully selling their own self-programmed software at the tender age of 12(!), through to Pete Cashmore and David Karp making efforts to try to look and sound older, all forged ahead with their plans despite lack of experience.  They also didn’t let personal circumstances keep them down; several still lived with their parents, and Sophia Amoruso had recently been caught shoplifting! But the most important factor is this; they all pursued their own ideas. They all believed in themselves, conceived their own ideas, and worked determinedly to bring these ideas into being. None of them took a formulaic approach, or were necessarily trying to become “The Next Mark Zuckerberg”; all of them were ardently pursuing their own personal dreams and goals; goals which just so happened to benefit the public to such a degree that they became highly successful and in demand. Indeed, the lives of these 8 CEOs are all sensational evidence for why following your passion is not a desire, but a need!
